"VIOLA" is a graceful 16' pocket fantail launch designed by Stuart Reid of New Zealand, originally as a platform for a hobby steam (or faux steam) engine but here adapted (after communication with the designer) for electric power. The name of the design "Piwakawaka" is the Maori word for "Fantail", which is a small New Zealand bird. With her 1890's classic style (but modern power), the electric launch "Viola" is ideal for a couple out on a nearly-silent evening cruise on a canal, harbor, lake, or slow river.
She is being offered for sale with a custom galvanized trailer, cushions and a full cover for $5,500 by the original owner. "Viola" is in pristine condition, has been stored out of the water under cover, and is located in Atlantic Beach, Florida, 20 miles east of downtown Jacksonville, Florida. A new high efficiency controller was installed in September 2015. Trailer bearings were replaced February 2017.
